Welcome to the historical district of Springfield, Jacksonville, where elegance and class meet industrial chic and urban appeal. Erica and Robert didn’t want an “average” looking wedding, so they decided to host their big day in this lovely and unique area of Jacksonville instead! Between the vibrant colors in their palette, unique venue, Central Park feel and the iconic Springfield mural, this wedding is one you will want to check out!
IT’S GLAM TIME

Erica and her bridesmaids got ready at an Airbnb near the venue. They spent the night there prior to the wedding since Erica’s bridal party was traveling from out of state! What a fun way to get the wedding festivities started.

I absolutely love the way the color of the bridesmaid’s robes photographed. It adds a vibrant pop of red-orange, perfect for the fall season! And of course, we had to get a few pictures of Erica’s sweet daughter, Sawyer. She is so adorable and was excited to see her mommy on her big day!

THE DETAILS

One of my favorite ways to capture all of the details of the wedding is through flat-lay photography. Couples spend so long planning each color and detail so purposefully, and I want to make sure the effort does not go unnoticed!
Their wedding theme was tropical, vibrant, and fun. Perfect for Florida, regardless of the season! One of Erica and Robert’s first trips they took together was to Mexico, where they fell in love with the food, drinks, and beauty of the country. So, they had bright, tropical flowers, margaritas, and tacos at their wedding!

THE GLOWING BRIDE
Erica was such a gorgeous bride. I am still swooning over her beautiful bouquet and wedding dress! One of the most anticipated parts of their wedding day for Erica was seeing all of her family supporting her and Robert on their big day. She has such an amazing support system in her life, especially these lovely ladies in her bridal party!
One of the most special moments of the day is capturing the bride and her mother. I feel so honored to photograph this bond between mothers and daughter, and the deep emotions that come out on this day!

THE GROOM & HIS GUYS
Of course, we can’t forget about the dashing groom and his groomsmen! Robert looked sharp in his black tuxedo, which made the colors of his tropical boutonnière POP! One of Robert’s most anticipated moments of the day was seeing Erica in her wedding dress for the very first time. What an exciting (and romantic) thing to look forward to!
THE FIRST LOOK(S)
A new and romantic trend in weddings right now is for the bride and groom to do a first look together before the actual ceremony. But the first look is not just limited to the groom! Erica decided to do three first looks: one with her daughter, one with her father, and finally with the groom. I love this idea because I get to capture so many different emotions between family members and the bride.
Sawyer’s first look with Erica was so adorable. The look in her eyes reflected that she thought her mom was a real-life princess! What a beautiful moment between mother and daughter that will last a lifetime.
The first look with Robert was romantic and definitely a tear-jerker! Robert cried tears of happiness when he saw his bride. Couples go through so much stress to get to this moment; it is hard not to be emotional!
THE CEREMONY

And just like that- the ceremony time has arrived! Erica and Robert’s venue was Brick and Beam, which is a funky, industrial spot that has a ton of character and charm. They loved the exposed brick inside and outside of the space, which you can see above!

Erica walked down the aisle to the instrumental version of “Stuck with You” by Edward Ong. The ceremony was so beautiful and intimate…it was perfect.

THE RECEPTION
After the ceremony, it was time for guests to head inside for the reception and check out the tropical decor, as well as Brick and Beam‘s captivating atmosphere! Erica and Robert decided to focus on floral elements as their main decor to enhance the venue’s unique features.
Part of the reason Erica loved the venue so much was for its various photograph opportunities and backgrounds. The iconic Springfield mural is conveniently located on the other side of the venue, which made for some amazing pictures of the wedding party.
WEDDING PORTRAITS IN THE PARK
As you know, my photography style is elegant, romantic, and timeless. Brick and Beam is definitely more of a trendy venue, but that did not stop me from getting those fairy-tale portraits of the bride and groom.
After speaking with Erica and Robert, I researched locations around Springfield that we could venture off to for couple portraits. I found a nearby park that looked airy and romantic…little did I know that it actually resembles Central Park in New York City! This was a pleasant surprise that resulted in gorgeous photos. You can feel the love between these two in each shot.
The park also had an amazing arch with greenery growing on each side, which made for a beautiful backdrop for these portraits!
Then, we discovered a lovely waterfront location. It turns out, this spot gave us the “it” photo of the session! Literally everything about this photo is perfect…the beautiful couple, sparkling water, flying birds, and the city skyline.
TIME TO PARTY
After all of the formal portraits were taken, it was time to eat some tacos and get out on the dance floor! One reason why Erica and Robert chose Brick and Beam as their venue is that they wanted an intimate space where their family and friends could easily chat and spend time together. You could really feel the love in the room!
Another precious moment during the night was hearing Sawyer make a speech about how much she loved everyone. Even though she is little, she stood in front of the crowd and held her own! She was so cute and brave!
Erica and Robert danced to “Never Til Now” by Ashley Cooke for their first dance. Watching them out on the dance floor was such an emotional moment. It was so beautiful and romantic!
Before the night was officially over, we headed outside for a few more mural pictures and their grand exit! The sparklers were such a nice touch and so cute in photographs.
Erica and Robert’s wedding was SO fun! I loved how they incorporated their own unique style and experiences into their wedding to make it the perfect night. I am so grateful to have captured this day for them!
